Hey there, I'm Stephanie—a native Charlestonian who grew up on James Island and graduated from the College of Charleston. Between being a mother, working a full-time job, and having (several) fur-children, I found myself in a place where I didn’t even have time to read a book, let alone do something I really didn’t enjoy, fold laundry.
Then one day I thought, we pay for a house cleaner twice a month, why can’t I just pay someone to fold our laundry? I put a short post out on Facebook and realized (much to my surprise) that there are people who actually enjoy folding laundry! We found a neighbor who loved to fold and every week she came and folded all of our laundry. Having our laundry folded took such a massive weight off my shoulders and now I never had to dread doing something that I despised so much.
Fast forward a few years, and I realized I couldn't be the only one who didn’t like folding laundry as much as I did. And so that’s why I created Folded. We all have so much on their plates in today’s world, and there’s not enough time in the day to get everything done, especially the important things like spending quality time with family and friends. My hope is by helping take this chore off of people’s plates, it allows them to do something that brings them a bit more joy and peace in their lives.
Supporting my local community is also really important, so Folded isn't just about organized clothes; it's about giving back. From day one, a percentage of net profits goes to local animal rescues. If you are a Charleston-based rescue and would like to be considered for donations, please email info@getfolded.com.
